AR-ZONED-OUT! I really don’t know what to make of the website and podcast called AR ZONE. After a barrage of insults targeting me, one of its moderators, Tim Gier, invited me for an interview in which he intended to reveal the fallacies of my perspectives on animal advocacy. Gier seems to be an unapologetic apologist for the evil and deceptive enemy of animals, the Humane Society of the United States (H$U$), and its zombie groupie groups.
The interview was conducted even before the launch of the H$U$ Farmer Outreach facebook page, and the revelations that the Humane Society is a recognized member of the global livestock sector whose mission is to help meet a 70% increase in demand for animal ag products by 2050.
My personal experience with and impression of AR ZONE is that it is a waste of time. I wasted time adjusting my schedule to accommodate the moderators’ schedule – AND WE ENGAGED IN AN HOUR AND A HALF INTERVIEW WHICH AR ZONE REFUSES TO RELEASE, even after telling me it felt it had an obligation to do so.
I sense that AR ZONE may be embarrassed by Mr. Gier’s performance, and prefers censorship. The interview began with my overview of the challenges facing a very confused animal rights movement, the betrayal of the animals by those who are supposed to protect them, the outrageous partnerships among animal abusers and supposed advocates, and the need for vegan animal liberation activism. The interview ended with Gier abruptly and rudely exiting, hanging up on me, and leaving me with his co – moderator, Carolyn Bailey, to discuss the weather in Australia.
Gier seemed neither interested in logic nor fact, only in creating a hostile environment of derision and insult. I’m sure he wouldn’t mind if you heard that. He mocked me for inviting Professor Gary Francione for weekly commentary on my radio program – dismissing us as two know-it-all egomaniacs, and me as an example of how anyone can get a microphone these days.
What does Mr. Gier know – or not know? That may be why he refuses to post our interview, during which I recall him questioning whether animals feel pain, agreeing with the H$U$ position to substitute mice for chimpanzees in vivisection, and supporting partnership with the egg industry as improvement for chickens. He seemed ill-informed about United Egg Producers’ influences and activities , issues related to wild horses, and – well – animal rights in general – for someone associated with an “AR” ZONE.
Then again, he may think just the opposite – that he gave a stellar and convincing performance and that I sounded like the idiot he intended to expose.
I suppose we would know if AR ZONE would just post the interview – if it hasn’t already been put through the shredder zone and flushed down the toilet zone.
