In 1998, Joanelle Romero, originally discovered by Leonard Cohen, was asked by Sarah McLaughlin to perform her music on the Lilith Fair Tour featuring vocalists Sarah McLaughlin, Sinead O?Connor, the Indigo Girls and Natalie Merchant. She was the only American Indian woman to appear on this all female tour. Then on July 25, 1998, Billboard Magazine featured Joanelle prominently in the first-ever special issue focusing on contemporary American Indian music. In 2005, THE UNITED NATIONS ? for its 60th anniversary – asked Joanelle Romero ?
